Morocco Overcome Haiti Scare to Clinch World Cup Knockout Berth

Morocco booked their place in the World Cup round of 32 after overcoming a resilient Haiti side in a thrilling 4-2 victory at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Atlas Lions suffered an early shock in the 10th minute when goalkeeper Yassine Bounou unluckily bundled the ball into his own net, gifting Haiti their first World Cup goal in 52 years. Morocco responded in the 39th minute through Achraf Hakimi, who bundled home a rebound.
However, the Caribbean nation stunned the stadium again just four minutes later. Wilson Isidor unleashed a spectacular 31-yard strike that flew into the top corner to restore Haiti's lead. Undeterred, Morocco equalized just before the break when Ismael Saibari calmly slotted home a low cross from Hakimi.
The North African giants dominated the second half, with their tactical substitutions proving decisive. In the 78th minute, Soufiane Rahimi fired a powerful effort into the roof of the net after a chaotic corner to put Morocco ahead for the first time. Jassim Yassine then sealed the 4-2 victory in the 89th minute, tapping into an empty net after a lengthy VAR review.
The win secures Morocco's progression as Group C runners-up alongside Brazil.
