Spain Stuns France 2-0 to Reach World Cup Final

Spain advanced to the 2026 FIFA World Cup final with a commanding 2-0 victory over France at AT&T Stadium on Tuesday night. The clinical performance ended France's tournament run and booked La Roja’s ticket to the championship match in New York/New Jersey.
Spain opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after 19-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal was brought down in the box by Lucas Digne. Mikel Oyarzabal stepped up to the penalty spot, coolly slotting a low drive into the bottom corner past Mike Maignan.
France’s troubles deepened in the 30th minute when star defender William Saliba was forced off due to a back injury. Despite tactical shifts by manager Didier Deschamps and late attacking substitutions, a frustrated Kylian Mbappé failed to pierce Spain's resolute backline.
Spain sealed the victory in the 58th minute. Right-back Pedro Porro executed a brilliant one-two pass with Dani Olmo, cut inside the box, and curled a precise shot into the far corner. A third Spanish goal by Yamal was later ruled out by VAR for offside.
Spain now awaits the winner of the Argentina-England semifinal, while France heads to Miami for the third-place playoff.
