June 30 – In the World Cup Round of 32, Germany were eliminated after a penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay, marking another early exit from the tournament.

Since winning the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Germany have now been eliminated in the Round of 32 (or group stage) for three consecutive editions:

- 2018 Russia: Lost 0–1 to Mexico, beat Sweden 2–1, lost 0–2 to South Korea – eliminated in the group stage.
- 2022 Qatar: Lost 1–2 to Japan, drew 1–1 with Spain, beat Costa Rica 4–2 – eliminated in the group stage.
- 2026 (USA/Mexico/Canada): Beat Curaçao 7–1, beat Côte d'Ivoire 2–1, lost 1–2 to Ecuador – topped their group, but fell to Paraguay in the Round of 32.
