Haaland Defies Côte d'Ivoire to Fire Norway Into World Cup Last 16

Erling Haaland’s 86th-minute winner sent Norway into the World Cup Round of 16 following a dramatic 2-1 victory over Côte d'Ivoire at the Dallas Stadium.
The tense knockout clash exploded into life in the 39th minute when Norwegian starlet Antonio Nusa cut inside from the wing to unleash a spectacular curling effort into the far corner, breaking the deadlock.
The West Africans responded with fierce intensity after the break. Substitute Amad Diallo single-handedly revived the Elephants' hopes in the 74th minute, dancing past multiple defenders inside the box before drilling home a low equalizer. Minutes later, the Manchester United winger kept his side alive with a heroic goal-line clearance.
However, Norway's talismanic striker had the final say. With extra time looming, Patrick Berg delivered a precise pass into the area, allowing Haaland to instinctively slot home the decisive match-winner.
Côte d'Ivoire almost forced a miracle in the 97th minute, but goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland produced a stunning, fingertips save to deny Diallo’s goal-bound free-kick.While the Elephants exit with heads held high, Norway celebrates a historic advancement to face heavyweights Brazil on July 5 in New York.
