Vozinha Completes Historic Colo-Colo Switch, Ready to Wear Number 29

Chilean football giants Colo-Colo have officially secured the signature of veteran Cape Verdean goalkeeper Vozinha. The 40-year-old shot-stopper arrives on a free transfer from Portuguese side Chaves, putting pen to paper on an initial 18-month contract keeping him at the club until the end of 2026.
Vozinha is set to wear the number 29 jersey for the Cacique. His arrival marks a unique milestone in Chilean football history; all 16 top-flight Primera División clubs unanimously voted to grant a special regulations exemption. This allowance permits him to wear his famous moniker “Vozinha” on his shirt instead of his legal surname, Dias.
The veteran keeper gained global prominence following his heroic performances for Cape Verde during their historic World Cup run, which saw his social media following skyrocket past 29 million.
"I am deeply honored to join a club with such grand history," Vozinha stated during his unveiling alongside club president Aníbal Mosa. He has already completed his medical checks and is expected to make his competitive debut on August 16 against O'Higgins.
