Persib Edges Rivals Persija 2-1 to Clinch Piala Presiden Final Spot

Persib Bandung secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over fierce rivals Persija Jakarta in the semifinals of the 2026 Piala Presiden. The highly anticipated "El Clasico" of Indonesian football took place at the Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, sealing Persib's place in the tournament's grand final.

Persib established early dominance, breaking the deadlock in the 22nd minute when new signing Uilliam Barros found the back of the net with a powerful strike. Just six minutes later, the reigning Liga 1 champions doubled their advantage. Montenegrin forward Balša Sekulić clinical converted a penalty in the 28th minute, leaving Persija with a mountain to climb.
